About the raga:
Sindhubhairavi is a popular raga in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical music. The raga brings various shades of emotion, primarily karuna (compassion) and bhakti (devotion). Sindhubhairavi is a versatile raga and is often used for semi-classical pieces played during the latter half of a traditional concert. It is a bhashanga raga and allows for the use of all twelve svaras (notes).

About the composer: Saint Puranadaradasa (c. 1484–1564) is one of the most important composers and pedagogues of the South Indian classical music tradition. Hailed as the Karnataka Sangita Pitamaha, he was a prolific composer and singer; he was responsible for creating the teaching pedagogy for Carnatic music that is followed to date.
