Exploring abandoned things is pretty amazing and I think everyone should do it. There is a mining town in nowhere Utah called Frisco that is incredible. It is off the beaten path. Not a lot is left of the main boom town but it has been abandoned for over 100 years. I have dropped a stone or two down the Devil's Door there and I have only ever heard them hit the side, not the bottom.
