Mr. Bevis is an episode from the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone. The story, which aired on June 3, 1960, centers on James B. W. Bevis, an eccentric and affable man with quirky tastes. Despite his jovial nature, Bevis's life is fraught with misfortune. On one particularly disastrous day, Bevis loses his job, is ticketed for parking infractions, and is evicted from his apartment. He encounters his guardian angel, J. Hardy Hempstead, who offers him a chance to start the day over with certain conditions. Initially, Bevis agrees, and his life transforms dramatically. However, he soon realizes that all the things that make him unique also bring genuine joy to his life and those around him. Bevis ultimately requests to return to his previous existence, preferring authenticity and personal happiness over superficial success.
