Ingredients

½ cup split black green gram with skin (chilkewali urad dal), soaked for 2 hours and drained
5 tbsps ghee
1 tbsp cumin seeds
2 tsps chopped ginger
½ tsp asafoetida (hing)
½ cup rice, soaked for 15 minutes and drained
Salt to taste
