It is a film that's been denounced by Israel's culture minister, but that did not stop Foxtrot from winning best picture at the country's annual movie awards.
Miri Regev says the depiction of Israeli soldiers in the film is a "horrendous lie".
The film had already won international acclaim and is tipped for Oscar success.
