This tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) was filmed during early morning as the first rays of the sun find this energetic little bird proudly showing off its iridescent plumes. Even at 60 frames per second slowed to1/3 speed this elegant bird seems in a rush to get on with its day catching insects on the wing. Shot along the Grand River near Breslau Ontario Canada these swallows arrive early in spring travelling up to 2,500 km searching for tree cavities to nest in, located near water courses with a steady supply of insects. Watch on a large computer monitor or 4k tv to appreciate the details.
