The New Orleans Police Department held a "show and tell" of sorts on Tuesday with various munitions used on aggressive demonstrators attempting to cross a bridge into a neighboring parish last week.
Sergeant Todd Morrell, a member of NOPD since 1991, is currently head of the department's bomb squad and munitions.
During the demonstration, Morrell held up a rubber bullet from another department, as well as a rubber ball, to show the difference between the two projectiles.
"We do not use this. We do not have this," he said, holding up the rubber bullet, which is long and cylindrical with a pointy tip like a bullet.
"This is what we deploy," Morrell said, holding a black round ball, one of 18 which are projected at one time from a launcher.
Morrell demonstrated for media at a police training facility how the launcher is loaded and fired.
An investigation is still underway regarding which police officers fired on the crowd last week.
