This was an interesting portrait because I had a clear point in the middle when I almost stopped. Not out of frustration, but because I just really liked how it looked without a background- the subject was so vivid she seemed to pop off the page. But I did end up pushing forward and still like the result. Overall, I feel like it really highlights aspects of alla prima oil painting, impressionism, and portraiture I’ve tried to practice and improve on. So much so that I’ll try to make a couple longer videos on the various socials with discussion (one already out there).
