I’ll bet you don’t know how a water softener works! Check this out!
1) Water Flows into the water softener from your water source here
2) As it flows through the tank it flows over these resin beads which removes the calcium, magnesium and iron from your water
3) Water gets to the bottom of the tank and flows into and up through the riser tube.
4) From there the now soft water goes to your whole house.
5) When the resin beads are full the water softener needs to clean itself or regenerate the media.
6) Typically done at night, first the water softener backwashes to drain.
7) Brine from the brine tank is sucked through this tubing into the media tank and slowly flows over those resin beads.
8) The salt in the brine releases and regenerates the resin beads
9) Brine is back washed to the drain
10) Then rinsed to get rid of all the salt
11) Right amount of water is added to brine tank to make brine for the next regeneration
12) Water softener is put back into service automatically.
