My 2003 Volvo V70 recently developed a rattling noise over bumps. Only noticeable when window was down. Checked everywhere: heat shield over exhaust pipe and muffler, brake dust cover, sway bar bushings and links. No luck. Decided to check out the parking brake, and voila, problem found. And it was an easy and inexpensive fix.
