Join us as I start the year with a short but sweet trip to the beautiful city of Antwerp! From the historic architecture to the delicious food, we packed as much as we could into our day there even if we were still KO from our New Year celebration just the day before. It rained alot, but watch as we wander through the charming streets, visit local shops and restaurants, and take in the culture of this Belgian gem.
Some of the main spots we visited were:
- Marolus: adorable small breakfast/ brunch place near the Borromeo Church, with the absolute best cinnamon roll i've ever had.
- Saint Charles Borromeo Church & Heritage Library Hendrik Conscience: we sadly were only able to visit these places from the outside as both were closed.
- Cathedral of Our Lady Antwerp: the entrance fee was 13€ so we decided to enjoy this church from the outside.
- Fritkot Max: according to Google the very best fries in Antwerp, so we had to try them and they were delish!
- Grote Markt: a classic and must see.
- Philip's Biscuits: recommended by a Belgian friend, delicious cookies!
- Het Steen: A small middle ages castle near the port.
- T'Hofke: small restaurant recommended to us by a Belgian friend, it's situated in the city center in the middle ages side streets, the food is slightly pricey but it was delicious and the location (which barely fit 10 tables inside) was beautiful and cozy. In the summer they have beautiful outside terrases which i can't wait to visit one day!
Obviously, there are tons more places we wanted to visit but didn't have time to, can't wait to go back and see more of this stunning city!
