4.4/5.0
Smell: Muddy earth sweet hay and hint of chocolate milk
Cold Draw: Sweet cocoa with hint of spicy
First Impression: Semi-close foot design. Spicy pepper draw with strong black and white pepper, and some earth flavor, also hint of wood. Retro-Hale very pungent with some cedar notes. Not a very good start for me.
1/3: Beautiful white ash build up about 1" before fall of. Nice draw. A lot of strength, sort of powerhouse. Medium body. Now flavor has developed to much subtle creamy cedar sweetness on the draw. Pepper dies down a lot. No more pungent on Retro-Hale. Sweet cedar finish.
2/3: Even more settled down. Creamy and almost chewy smoke. Sweet , a lot of subtle cedar. Lesser smoke output at this stage. Retro-Hale nice and gentle cedar and hint of chocolate flavor.
3/3: This cigar is getting even better now. Earthy dark chocolate bitterness and sweetness. Cocoa powder texture. Dark earthy pepper sweet finish. Retro-Hale noticeable citrus, cedar, wood, earth, hint of cognac and pepper. Also better smoke output at this stage.
Overall a very interesting cigar. I didn't like it on the first impression, but little by little, this cigar keeps on adding good flavors, also burns better and better with longer even ash build. I will give it 4.4/5.0.
