In June 2022 A-ROSA’s newest fleet member, the A-ROSA SENA, entered service on the Rhine. The truly unique E-Motion Ship features a hybrid propulsion system, which means it has both diesel and electric engines. A large battery enables the so-called peak shaving and temporarily purely electric driving. This allows A-ROSA SENA to dock in ports almost silently and without producing local emissions. In addition to further technological novelties such as an exhaust heat recovery system, the ship is characterized by a thoughtful and modern interior design as well as a high-quality culinary program, which provides guests with the perfect space to relax and recharge. Its innovative concept earned the A-ROSA SENA the 1. Place at the 2022 German Awards for Sustainability Projects in the category “Service – Transportation” as well as a Green Award certification in Gold.
