Zuki Page, owner of Sancho Panza and Chef Ariosto Antonio Camacho, owner of Aguacate Fish founded the event. They teamed up with international publisher TRAVELER Publications (BajaTraveler®) and Mexican winery Château Camou to help chefs of Los Cabos re-activate themselves after the 2020 coronavirus pandemic hit the world with a vengeance and restaurants suffered from closures. Now that Los Cabos is reopening as a safe destination, the timing for the Top Chef event was perfect.

The October 17 premier event will be held at the Sancho Panza restaurant. It promises to be a celebration of fine cuisine, inspiring culinary experts, and heartfelt camaraderie. Celebrity Chefs Jeremiah Tower and Javier Plascencia will be the guests of honor.

Each entrant will create unique and original dishes in an 8-course meal. All dishes will be paired with wines from the award-winning winery, Château Camou from Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, including the multi-award winner “The Gran Vino Tinto.”

A winner will be selected as the first “Top Chef Los Cabos” at the end of the night by judges… all those in attendance will be the judges. The categories are four… creativity with protein, artistic presentation, side-dish selection and flavor and texture.
The lavish intimate affair will be open to the public but is limited to 90 guests on a first come-first serve basis due to safety precautions. Even so, it will be a welcome back for many in the restaurant industry.
