Previously, the party briefly revisited Trabia Garden after the story sequence there. Most importantly, they challenged Selphie's Friend to Triple Triad and won the Selphie card, which they promptly modded to get 3 Elem Guards. They used one to teach Siren the Elem-Defx4 ability. The party also visited the Library in Balamb Garden for the Zell Love Quest. The Library Committee members and the Library Girl with a Pigtail were discussing the results of the questionnaire that they had subjected Zell to earlier. The party returned to Shumi Village to draw more Ultima spells for Squall and boost his already obscenely high strength. Finally, they played Triple Triad against Xu some more and converted some Ruby Dragon cards and Tiamat cards into Flare spells for another party member. Now, the party will face a major encounter in the woods near Edea's House on the southwestern tip of the Centra continent.
