Metro Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, has a population of approximately 30 million people — making it the largest city in southeast Asia and one of the biggest cities on earth.
But Indonesia’s capital is sinking due to groundwater depletion — and climate change is speeding up the process.
The situation is so bad that Jakarta is expected to be completely underwater by 2050.
