How to Use Graphite Transfer Paper - Art Tips.
How to transfer drawing to canvas, wood or another painting surface using graphite transfer paper.

I don't usually draw my sketches for paintings straight onto watercolor paper or canvas. I draw the sketch on a separate paper, where it's easier to erase and clean up the outlines and then transfer the finished sketch onto my painting surface. Graphite transfer paper is one method to transfer your drawing onto watercolor paper, canvas, wood or whatever painting surface you're using.

MATERIALS USED

- Graphite Transfer Paper [ Ссылка ] (affiliate)
- Classic 250 gsm Rough, Acid Free Watercolour Paper A4
- Painter's tape
- Grid paper

I tried graphite transfer paper in 2015 after seeing it in Leilani Joy's videos and loved it. In the video I'm transferring a sketch onto watercolor paper. I first tape the watercolor paper onto hardboard. However, you can use graphite transfer paper with a variety of painting surfaces. Attach the sketch on top of the painting surface with painter's tape so it won't move while you draw. The graphite paper, however, can move. Place the graphite transfer paper (black or colored side down) between your painting surface and the sketch and redraw the sketch. Preferably with a different kind of pen so you'll see which parts you already transferred. Now the sketch is transferred and you're ready to paint! There are other ways to transfer your sketch without using transfer paper, such as using a window or baking paper, for example (read more from the link below). Graphite transfer paper is my favorite, because it will not reverse the image and it's pretty accurate.
