This video shows step by step instructions on how to use a rope clamp to wire rope assemblies. When figuring out how many wire rope clips to use - depending on the size of your assembly, two to three wire rope clips are generally required. Installing wire rope clips or cable clamps can create an eye at the end of your wire when used in conjunction with wire rope thimbles. They clamp the dead end back to the live end.
Wire rope slings are strong and an excellent choice for heavy-duty jobs involving lifting, hoisting, towing, or anchoring loads. The fabrication of wire slings offers excellent abrasion-resistance and heat resistance so it can be used in extreme conditions and temperatures. Its pliable design can conform to the shape of a load for a more secure application.

---------------------------------
Step 1.
Turn back the specified amount of rope from the thimble. Apply first clip one base width from the dead end of the rope. Tighten nuts evenly, alternating from one nut to the other until reaching the recommended torque.
Step 2.
If only two cable clamps are required, apply the second clip as near the loop or thimble as possible. Remember, U-Bolt over dead end. Tighten nuts evenly, alternating until reaching the recommended torque. When applying more than two clips, apply the second clip as near the loop or thimble as possible, turn nuts on second clip firmly, but do not tighten.
Step 3.
Space additional clips equally between the first two. Apply tension and then tighten the nuts on each clip evenly, alternating from one nut to the other until reaching recommended torque.

Wire Cable Clips Styles
These clamps come in two main styles, both of which can be used for a variety of applications:
1. Standard Wire Rope Clips - ideal for heavy-duty rigging jobs, traditional cable clamps feature a U-bolt and saddle that is secured with nuts. The U-bolt covers the dead end of the wire, while the saddle sits on the live end.
2. Fist Grip Guy Wire Clamps - the first grip style consists of bolts and heavy hex nuts. The unique design makes installation a breeze - the operator can swing the wrench in a full arc each time! Unlike the standard clips, you can install these at any orientation relative to the live and dead ends.
