The music used in the video was by Sebastian Forslund and is called This One. It can be found on epidemic sound.
The idea came to me in January after YouTube Rewind 2018 when I thought it would be cool to create a rewind that shows you all the biggest creators and legendary moments since the platforms inception.
The YouTube angels idea came from the oscars. Every year they dedicate time to those who have passed away and i always thought youtube should do the same.
I only speak english so it was impossible for me to research and watch through videos in another language and therefore i couldn’t include any non English speaking creators. In terms of deciding who and what to include I made a huge list of all the legendary creators
and moments from YouTube history. The challenge is the research. For example to find a someone saying thank you isn’t as easy as you think. I had to watch through hours of videos just to find that one line. So finding the right clips and sound bites was really tough and resulted in a lot of unsuccessful hours of watching videos and not finding what i wanted. Ryan Higa was the hardest, all his older videos are comedy
sketches with copyright music over them.
The video was originally going to be titled YouTube Rewind - Time Machine as it takes you on a journey back to the start. This is why the thumbnail is meant to be a time portal. However shortly before i uploaded it i was advised by a few people to change it to YouTube Rewind 2019
