After years of strategizing with donors, collaborating with partners, and working with schools, MATTER’s educational initiatives in Zimbabwe are flourishing. Now, the next big next step: expanding the MATTER Career Readiness Institute (MCRI) in Victoria Falls, just two years after its launch. This Phase Two expansion will include new call rooms, classrooms, meeting spaces, offices, and a kitchen area.
Why does this matter? This revolutionary approach to education focuses on computer technology and job creation, giving Zimbabwean students the skills and confidence to secure remote employment. It’s a powerful way to shape the economic future of Zimbabwe.
Starting with the MATTER Innovation Hub (MIH), students experience a creative, student-centered learning environment that emphasizes problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership. With seven active Hubs across Zimbabwe serving 2,600 students, and more on the way, the impact is growing.
From MIH, graduates can apply for the MCRI, where they earn international certification in coding and computing skills. With guaranteed remote internships at U.S. companies, these students are getting a head start on their careers. And some of them have already turned those internships into full-time jobs!
