(14 Aug 2017) The record for the largest Saman dance performed simultaneously by men in Indonesia was broken on Sunday, with more than ten thousand showing up for the event.
Saman dance or "the dance of thousand hands" was recognised by UNESCO in 2011 as Indonesia's cultural heritage
The Indonesian World Records Museum certified feat with 10,001 participants.
Last year, 6,600 took part.
The Saman dance is performed once a year by the Acehnese as symbol of unity among the villagers after the harvest.
