A tour of the Tennessee River Gorge on the River Gorge Explorer, owned and operated by the Tennessee Aquarium. Commissioned by the Aquarium, the boat can speed the five miles to and from the the Gorge at 50 mph and thus have more time to spend at the Gorge. A naturalist accompanies every tour, speaking about the flora and fauna as well as the history and culture of the area. I was part of a Sierra Club Service group and we spent a morning at the Aquarium and the afternoon on the boat tour.
