Are you traveling from Edinburgh to London but wondering which one's better - Train or Plane? In this video, I'll show you the full trip from Edinburgh to London on a high-speed Lumo train, starting with the stations, the train, the food, scenery and sights along the way. I'll compare the costs of taking a train ride vs. the cost of flying between the two capitals.
Lumo is a British train operator between London King's Cross and Edinburgh Waverley station. I chose the Lumo train out of other trains as it's equally fast, low cost, more budget friendly. Also, another cool fact, it's fully electric! Plus, it only takes a little over 4 hours to go across UK, from one end of the country to the other!!!
In my opinion, taking the Lumo train was the best way to travel from Edinburgh to London. You get to travel comfortably, enjoying your food and drinks, and most importantly, seeing beautiful nature. I wanted a fast and cheap way to travel between Edinburgh and London, but I felt I also got a road trip as a bonus!
How long does Lumo take from London to Edinburgh? - 4 hours 23 min.
Are Lumo trains any good? - I'd say yes as my trip was fast, cheap, painless, and with gorgeous views although during a cold season.
Is it worth taking the train from London to Edinburgh? - A Lumo high speed train is worth it for tourists, looking for something cheaper than a flight, including all the hidden costs. A train ride costs about $100 (even cheaper if bought months in advance), takes 4 hours 23 mins and there are no hidden costs. A flight on a plane costs $180, takes an hour and a half but there are hidden costs such as getting to the airport, then from the airport, getting to the city center, all the while losing time and money!
