Warning: The proprietary 18650 sized battery in this light could damage other devices!

Klarus had made an effort to isolate the poles of the battery but the non-standard arrangement could possibly short out or produce reverse polarity in devices designed for standard 18650 batteries.

Klarus should make customers aware that this light takes a proprietary battery!

The Klarus E1 showed great promise as a EDC light. I like the form factor and dual tail switch but a proprietary battery ruins a light that would have been my new EDC. Other than the battery the E1 also has a cool white LED that will put off most flashlight enthusiasts. I don't normally return gear but they advertised an 18650 light, it should work with at least most standard 18650 batteries. To be clear this light only works with a proprietary 18650 sized battery that has both polarity terminals on one side of the battery.
