(28 Sep 2016) Work has begun to prepare the grave for Israel's ninth President Shimon Peres, who died at the age of 93 early on Wednesday.
Dozens of world leaders are expected to attend Peres' funeral, scheduled for Friday in Jerusalem's Mount Herzl cemetery.
He will be laid to rest beside the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Peres and Rabin shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1994 for brokering the historic Oslo interim peace accords with the Palestinians a year earlier.
