How my blood parrots beat ICH and BLACK FUNGUS!!! Right now they're juveniles and I haven't had them long @ all. Their fins were bit up @ the fish store by other really aggressive fish and they were swimming on their sides when I bought them. So the disease was not too surprising and pretty much happened immediately after adding to their new tank. 1 of the parrots has a black dot on his head which is more a freckle lol nothing harmful. The black spots that were harmful started on the body & fins. As of today the fish are doing great and have NO diseases.
For 3 days straight I did 25% water changes and re-dosed the tank with salt/ick remedy/prime. Heat was also raised, ...... and during the first water change I added slightly warmer water to help the temp climb(for me, this worked) my BPC showed no signs of stress. I also added some hiding places to help lower their stress and added more air to the tank. SN: (I LOVE AROWANAS SO IM JUST USED TO BARE BOTTOM EMPTY TANKS). The only money a spent was $6 and that was for the Marineland ICK Remedy 4oz bottle. Some people are against chemicals but I'm just against losing fish & money! These BPC are a beautiful RED, the tint of the chemicals makes them look an orange but they are RED!!! :)))
