If you're looking for a peaceful place to explore in the Brecksville Reservation, Deer Lick Cave is an excellent destination. The cave, adjacent ledges, streams, and surrounding forest provide a scenic, relaxing environment.
To get to Deer Lick Cave, hikers start from the Nature Center trailhead and proceed either left or right on the Deer Lick Cave loop. The trail overlaps with the Buckeye Trail for approx. 1 mile, and loops back to the Nature Center after passing the cave. The total distance of the moderately difficult hike is 4 miles.
Alternately, hikers can take an easier and shorter route by taking Valley Parkway to the Deer Lick Cave parking lot and following a .2 mile loop to the cave.
