UPDATE: Officials tell CBS6 that the boil water order has been lifted for the Town of Niskayuna.
Officials, as a precaution, recommend running water for at least 5 minutes to flush out systems, as well as discard any ice that appliances may have made.
UPDATE: County officials reiterate that the boil-water order for the Town of Niskayuna remains in effect. Additional information is expected late in the day Saturday, and residents will be informed via the media when tests confirm that no harmful bacteria are in the water.

NISKAYUNA - Police are alerting residents after a water main break affected certain areas of the town of Niskayuna.
Police say the water main break occurred in the area of Rosendale Road near Mohawk Road and River Roads. Traffic has been detoured in the area.
A boil water order has been issued for the entire town of Niskayuna.
Crews report that water pressure may be affected for a short time as the main is repaired.
