A winter expedition to Nordkapp (North Cape): Part 1 is a part of our project called "Hele Norge på Dashcam". In this project, we will show you unedited dashcam footage from our road trip. You will get a glimpse of the beautiful landscape of Norway from North to South. We choose Nordkapp as the starting point for the project.
Nordkapp (North Cape) has been a great adventure for travelers. As a majestic landmark, it has been challenging explorers, royalty, and tourists to the north. The steep mountain cliff rises 307 meters above the Arctic Ocean and marks the endpoint of the European continent. We wanted to explore the northernmost point of the European highway in winter. We don't see Spring in Northern Norway. It is still freezing winter with lots of snow. We drove to Nordkapp during Easter vacation. Our winter expedition to Nordkapp started from Tromsø. Five families with their cars (Volvo XC90, VW Tiguan, Chevrolet Trax, Ford Focus, and Skoda) joined the expedition.
On this tour, we drove past mountains and fjords of Northern Norway and survived hardcore snowstorms twice (Kvænangsfjellet and on E6, Stokkedalsveien valley towards Skaidi). After surviving the snowstorm, we had a fantastic sunny day. The crossing of Kvænangsfjellet during the snowstorm will be uploaded and linked to this video later. I only uploaded part 1 of our dashcam video (without editing) from Alta to Nordkapp. The last 13 km to Nordkapp was driven in convoy for safety reasons in winter. Part 2 will be uploaded soon and linked to this video. I will upload the Nordkapp-Tromsø road trip in several parts in the coming months. Enjoy the scenic dashcam view of untouched Northern Norway.
