In this brief video, from the Airbus Indication & Recording ground school lesson, we explain importance of failure classification by the Electronic Centralised Aircraft Monitoring (ECAM) system. Fundamental to the Airbus aircraft is the ECAM and the understanding of the failures is essential. We describe the 5 different failure classes; MEMO, Advisory (ADV), Level-1 (LVL1), Level-2 (LVL2) and Level-3 (LVL3). We give examples of all the levels and explain how they are shown to the pilots.
