Trump's first impeachment - 2020
President Donald Trump was only interested in how investigations into the Bidens could benefit him personally and politically, not because he was worried about Ukrainian corruption and the harm it posed to the U.S., argued Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House impeachment manager, before the Senate on Jan 23. “[Trump] only expressed interest in one thing, investigating his political opponent,” Schiff said. House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The White House will then make its defense. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
