Amon Tobin played to an eager crowd at the San Diego Houes of Blues on Thursday, September 27, 2012. The visually ambitious ISAM LIVE 2.0 tour pairs the record's sonically challenging music with shape-shifting 3-D animation. The 13-track album features a mathematically patterned sound mimicked by an elaborate set of cubes that glow, pulse and serve as a canvas for visuals that range from mechanical gear churns to pointillistic displays.The show was a carefully choreographed combination of experimental electronic music and reality-warping visuals. The music ranged from deep, slow paced, spacey sounds to house to uptempo drum and bass.Throughout the entire set, Tobin was nestled inside his elaborate Rubik. While some people were dancing -- most were staring in awe at the masterpiece presented before them, which meshed seamlessly with the meticulous sounds created by Tobin.
