Talk title: The Impact of Feedback on Haloes and Large-Scale Structure
Speaker: Daniele Sorini
Talk abstract:
Simulations show that "feedback processes" such as stellar or AGN-driven winds have a significant impact on star formation and on the overall distribution and physical state of diffuse gas in the universe. These effects can in turn impact large-scale structure and, therefore, observables of cosmological interest. I discuss the predictions of several variants of the Simba hydrodynamic simulation with different stellar/AGN feedback processes on the halo mass function; the baryonic content of haloes across time; the distance from haloes that encloses a baryonic mass fraction equal to the cosmic value. My preliminary results show a distinctive signature of jets on the distribution of gas within groups and cluster-size haloes that might be tested with future observations.
