Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Marzuki Darusman says there has been a rise in people fleeing the country due to economic and political repression. Darusman, addressed the UN Human Rights Council on 12 March 2012, where he raised concerns about rising incidents of repatriation of asylum seekers back into North Korea.
