Have you tried embroidering with 3d Puffy Foam yet?! It is SO easy and SO fun, I promise you'll be addicted once you try! Plus, it's not too different than normal embroidery! In this tutorial, I'm embroidering on a T-Shirt, but the Puff Foam can be embroidered onto anything - sweatshirts, hats, tote bags, etc!
Here's what you'll need:
1. 2mm or 3mm Puffy Foam (specifically for machine embroidery)
2. A 3d embroidery font (regular embroidery fonts will NOT work with the puffy foam)
3. Something to hold the foam down while embroidering (I use simple Scotch tape)
4. Crafting Tweezers
5. A small heat gun (preferred/recommended) or hair dryer
You will embroider like normal, only this time laying down your foam to the place where your design is going (taping corners down so that it doesn't shift during embroidery). It is recommended that the color of foam that you use is the same as the color of thread that you use - this will ensure the two blend nicely!
Peeling the foam off once done, and then run over it quickly with a heat gun to ensure any foam-fuzzies shrink up for a nice smooth finish!
What will you try it on first?! Let me know in the comments!
