The nation’s leading infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says he expects the U.S. to get the COVID-19 crisis under control by spring 2022. But that’s if an overwhelming majority of Americans get vaccinated by then, and if the country can keep the spread of the virus at bay through the winter.
Tuesday, officials announced 1,595 new, positive cases and 20 new deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 940,179 cases in the state and 26,755 confirmed and probable deaths.
