Scout is a leading-edge, opt in application that leverages Wi-Fi and the Internet-of-Things to provide personalised navigation and wayfinding, as well as location-based services to Deakin’s students, staff and visitors.
Designed by Deakin’s digital division, eSolutions, Scout improves the on-campus experience. The app allows students, staff and visitors to search for a room or service and provides step-by-step directions (including accessible routes) from their location to their destination; both in and around Deakin’s campus environments.
Quietening the visual noise, Scout makes what could be a quite complex journey from one place to another in a large, unfamiliar environment, a really simple one, adding a new layer of warmth to Deakin’s campuses.
