Ved besan cheela|| ❤️A golden, crispy Besan Cheela served on a traditional Indian plate. Garnished with fresh coriander and paired with green chutney☘️
Ingredients:👇
1 cup besan (gram flour)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped tomato (optional)
1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
1/4 cup grated carrot or chopped coriander leaves (optional)
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
Salt to taste
Water (to make batter)
Oil or ghee (for cooking)
Instructions:👇
1. Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, combine besan, turmeric powder, ajwain, and salt.
Gradually add water while whisking to make a smooth, lump-free batter.
Add the chopped onions, tomatoes, chilies, coriander, and carrots. Mix well.
The batter should have a pancake-like consistency.
2. Heat the Pan:Heat a non-stick or iron skillet on medium flame. Lightly grease it with oil or ghee.
3. Spread the Batter:
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it evenly in a circular shape.👇
Cook on medium flame until bubbles appear and the edges lift slightly.☺️
4. Flip and Cook:
Drizzle a little oil around the edges, then flip the cheela.
Cook the other side until golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve:💁
Serve hot with green chutney, ketchup, or yogurt on the side.
