King Charles’s Coronation is the royal event of the year and very few invitations have been given out to the public. There have been suggestions that even some of Charles’ closest friends have not made the cut. Invitations are gold dust, but Robert Hunningher was asked to attend.
“Everyone was jumping for joy”, Mr Hunningher said. "We are still in shock, it took me a day to open the envelope because I was so nervous.”
Camilla Tominey found out all the details from opening the invitation, the dress code and seating arrangements on the day.
During the pandemic, Robert used his shuttered event catering business to feed the local community, as well as provide thousands of meals to the NHS. He operated a food bank and soup kitchen, with the latter still in operation twice weekly from its Hoxton base. His actions were noticed and in 2022, Robert was awarded a British Empire Medal by the late Queen for his services to feeding the local community.
