Kaimur, Oct 16 (ANI): Upset with the lack of development in their village, the residents of Parsia village in Kaimur district of Bihar boycotted the ongoing assembly elections on Friday. Bihar, traditionally seen as a bellwether of national politics, is one of India's poorest states and its population of 100 million exceeds that of Germany. Parsia village greets its visitors with a poster reading, "No roads, no vote. We want development and not promises." The angry villagers alleged that the politicians made tall promises during poll campaigns, but never fulfilled them. A local Brijesh Tiwari said that the villagers had raised their grievances with the concerned officials but in vain. The polling booth in the village wore a deserted look as not one voter turned up to exercise his franchise. The second phase of polling is taking place across 32 constituencies spread over six districts, including Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Aurangabad and Gaya on Friday.
