A missing boater was found dead on Sunday after an extensive search.

The Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue said on Sunday that crews recovered the body of a missing boater on Sunday afternoon.

The search began on Saturday night near the D9 marker on Lake Norman and continued into Sunday. Several agencies contributed to the search.
