LILYGO TTGO LORA32 915Mhz ESP32 Rocket Ride-Along.
We range tested these LILYGO TTGO LORA32 915Mhz ESP32 boards on the ground in a couple of scenarios. I even 3D printed some functional cases that hold the TTGO LORA32 board, a 1000Mah LiPo battery and the antenna securely. The September rocket club launch seemed like the next obvious progression for range testing these TTGO LORA32 boards. My Maximum Ultra rocket, 4.5 feet long and 4 inches in diameter is the perfect launch platform for the TTGO LORA32 transmitter. Weighing 450 grams and flying on an Aerotech G79-4 motor to 800 feet, the views are scenic. We monitor the reciever to see that these TTGO LORA32 boards maintained communication thoughout the flight, right up to the actual landing. At the landing site, line of sight communication was lost.
