(9 Aug 2019) The tight alliance between President Trump and Mitch McConnell has been on clear display in the emerging debate over gun control.
McConnell has long led Republican efforts in the Senate to stifle gun control proposals and has resisted Democrats' cries to interrupt Congress' recess and approve new restrictions.
On Saturday, he attended the Fancy Farm picnic, Kentucky's premier political event.
