This was a completely unplanned video!!!

Matt Fisher of Blackrock had sent me the new Akita 12/20 and 20/30 boat rods to test and I had this Tope trip. So...., I had paired the 12/20 with my Seigler SGN and the 20/30 with my Accurate Boss 400 Fury. I gave the 12/20 to Mervin the boat captain (He loves my older Mk1 Blackrock AK 12+ rod) while I used the 20/30.

The 12/20 performed incredibly well in the strong current holding 12oz of lead needed to reach the sea bed 125ft below with ease and as usual Mervin had a hook up within 10 minutes of fishing (No surprise there then....)

So I grabbed my mobile phone to make this video, hence the fingers in front of the lens, (Sorry about that) it was a sunny day, I could not see the screen.

Both the Blackrock 12/20 and the Seigler SGN dealt with the 25lb Tope in excellent fashion, both rod and reel punching considerably above their weight classes proving that this combination is an excellent all rounder for British waters

The Blackrock 20/30 I used with the Accurate Boss Fury 400 also performed exceptionally well hauling in first a 20lb then a 25lb Tope with ease, although I was not going to trust anyone else with my mobile in case they dropped it... 😊 😇

Thanks to Chris for the de-hooking and Peter & Phil for staying out they way so I could film.
