We celebrate Devi Mahagauri on the 8th day of the Navratri 2021 Celebrations. Devi Mahagauri is the most beautiful, gracious, powerful, and all-encompassing form of the Mother Divine. Ashtami is the most important day of the Navratri celebrations and we worship this aspect of the Devi Shakti on the 8th day.
It is said in the scriptures that Devi Mahagauri was the transformation of Ma Parvati from her Kali Avatar to the Mahagauri avatar. In this transformation she represented the two energies that encompasses the whole world.
In the darkness, Ma Kaali removes all the evil and allays the fear of her devotees. And by turning into Mahagauri, the Devi Shakti provides strength, blessings, and brings new light and energy in the life of those who worship her.
Watch Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explain the Mahagauri aspect of the Navdurga and what different blessings that this form of the Devi Shakti brings in our life.
