This talk will explore the role of forgiveness in dealing with trauma and anxiety. Without forgiveness we are shackled to the past. When someone else does us harm, we are connected to that mistreatment like a chain. We remain caught in the trauma and pain of our past. This happens within societies as well. Humanity needs to learn forgiveness, to end the cycles of vengeance and violence.
We will examine the nature of forgiveness within insight meditation, look at why it is important and how to practice forgiveness.
These sessions are for everyone. The majority of us all have experienced some level of trauma in our lives, and this can affect how we practice the Dharma and live our lives.
