Walking tour of Pucon, Chile - International Living

www.internationalliving.com. The popular resort town of Pucon, in Chile's Lake District, lies on the shores of Lake Villarica. At just over 400 miles from the capital of Santiago, it's a driveable distance--but it's also only an hour or so from the regional airport of Temuco. Thanks to the area's Germanic heritage, Pucon looks a bit like a Swiss alpine village, but also a bit like a New England resort town, with shops selling hiking and mountain gear, and restaurants offering a range of international cuisines. The town is packed during the summer season of Jan-Feb, but is more tranquil much of the rest of the year.
