Adam: What's going on everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan chain snow tire chains on our 2020 Ram 1500. So, these are going to be a ladder pattern, style chain, low carbon steel. It is going to resist against rust and corrosion. So, obviously when we have snow on the ground, we have chains on our tires. It's probably going to be salt on the roads too.
It's going to resist all that. So, hopefully these chains are going to last, you guys, a couple of seasons, but in regards to these specific chains, they are going to have a V-bar on top and these are going to be the more aggressive style chains compared to some of the others. It isn't going to have the greatest ride, but you are going to get supreme traction compared to some of the others that we offer here at etrailer. And these V-bars are nice and universal across the whole entire chain here. So, they are going to wear away relatively evenly, but they are going to wear away a little bit quicker than some of those square links, less aggressive type chains. These are going to be a twist link as well.
So, we're definitely going to get plenty of traction, but just know that these are going to be for some of the more extreme conditions and they will wear away a little bit quicker. I really do like the fit on these tires just because I don't really like having a lot of those chains anywhere near my rims. I know these are the OEM REMS, but if you guys do have some aftermarket ones and you just like to keep them nice and pretty, I always look for chains that aren't going to be anywhere near the rims, just so they don't get scratched whenever I'm using them. These chains do come in a pair of two. So, just go ahead and for your two wheel applications, just grab one of them on our website. If you need four of them for your four wheel drive applications, just grab two of them.
You're going to have two of them come in a canvas case like this. To be honest, these do rip over time, but not all of the carrying cases for all of our chains are the strongest, but they're definitely going to be able to get your chains into one central location. So, you can go ahead throw it in the toolbox of your Ram or just underneath the seats. It really isn't going to take up a whole lot of space. It isn't really too difficult to get these chains installed. So, let's just go ahead and do it together.
So, the first thing we want to do is lay out our chains, make sure everything is in order and there is no twists or kinks on our links. And if everything's good, we're going to go ahead and do our best to grab the center of our chains and then drape them over our tire. We want to do our best to make them nice and even. Then we can go ahead and go around back and make our first connection. So, now we're going to go ahead and on one side, we're going to have a hook and on the other, we're going to have a bunch of spare links. You're going to go ahead and pick one. The first time that we do this, we're going to have to figure out which one works best, but I'm going to go ahead and try the fourth one from the end here and see how that fits. So now we're going to go ahead and go around front and make another connection. So, I use the fourth one from the end of the back, and this is what it's going to look like if we don't have the right link. So, I'm going to go ahead and readjust, and then we're going to go ahead and finish the connection up front. So, around back, I ended up using the very last link on the 275/65R18 inch tire. And I'm going to use the last link on the front as well. Might be able to get away with the second one. Again, we're going to have to just feel it out the first time we test out these chains and we're going to do, that's folded back and then our spare link on the end here is going to fit into this little arm just like that. So, now we can go ahead and grab our rubber adjuster. These aren't going to come with the chains, but we do have them here at etrailer, so it will be a one-stop shop, just scroll down on the page and we should have these in the related products. So, all we really need to do is just make sure that the hooks are going to be facing out just so we don't damage our tire. We also want to be as symmetrical as we can just to evenly distribute all of that pressure. I do my best to make it nice and symmetrical, but once we're done hooking these up, we do recommend that you guys roll over them a couple of times and then come back out, check and make sure they're nice and tight. If they are, we're pretty much ready to hit the road. W
