*Sold!* Tunnel 13 redwood is the name given to the reclaimed redwood beams that were first used to construct railway lines on the west coast in the late 1880s. After a century plus spent drying, soundboards made from this wood provide the kind of aged, nuanced sound you typically only get with true vintage instruments. What better way to further work that tone than to pair it with the most aged of the woods out there: 45,000 ancient kauri from New Zealand.
With this special 12-fret 000, Santa Cruz have kept the appointments surprisingly but satisfyingly sparse, with simple line purfling and rosette, maple binding, and no inlays at all. With tonewoods like these, you just don't need much more.
