Four buffalos have died mysteriously since December 21, 2024, in New Jalukie E Block, Peren District, Nagaland. The cause of death is suspected to be either food poisoning or an epidemic. New Jalukie Chairman, Mr. Liangkebo, reached out to the district veterinary office for a postmortem, but was informed that the staff were on leave. He has appealed to the state government to conduct a postmortem to prevent the potential spread of the issue to neighboring villages and other livestock.
